Scott Papich is one of Nederland Fire's LT candidates, he is working through his task book and getting more involved in what it means to be an officer with the department.  

When Scott moved to Nederland, he decided -- with national forest bordering on all sides of town -- that volunteering for NFPD was the best way to help serve his community. And he's never regretted a minute of it.

When he's not at Station 1 or out on a fire engine or an ambulance, he's either busy with his regular job or running off to fly fish -- except in the frosty depths of winter, when he is out skiing while thinking about fly fishing."
