Board of Directors
The Board of Directors provide oversight to District operations, budget and long range planning. The board is composed of up to 5 members elected in general or special election by voters within the District Boundary. Positions within the Board are then voted on by the Board and filled at the first meeting following an election. The Department is proud of their work and diversified nature of it's Board Members.

 

HENRY ZhzURBRUGG

DISTRICT CHAIRMAN / PRESIDENT

Chairman Zurbrugg joined the Department in 2002 as a volunteer firefighter, subsequently he completed EMT-B training in May of 2003. He chose to contribute at a higher level and was ultimately elected as a District Board member and then designated as Board President. Zurbrugg has the unique insight of having functioned as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT while bringing his astute business and managerial sense to various District issues.

 

NICHOLAS BRODSKY

BOARD MEMBER

Brodsky is a real estate professional who has worked in the Nederland area for over 20 years. He was elected to the Board in 2014. Brodsky was a volunteer firefighter with NFPD for over 10 years. He was a wealth on knowledge regarding fireground and EMS activities, and provides perspective on District services to our community and the Fire Department's effect on insurance premiums and property values.

 

jeJOE EVANS

SECRETARY

Evans is a long time Nederland Veterinarian. He was one of the initial Board Members who helped form the District in 1990. He later was re-elected to the District Board and brings considerable perspective on our organization in relation to our activities within the community.

 

RAY WILLISrw

 BOARD VICE- PRESIDENT/TREASURER

Willis is a 4th generation Nederlander, serving as a volunteer on the Fire Department for over 25 years. He has held every rank on the Department including Chief, he brings a great deal of operation knowledge and perspective.

 

 

BETH DAVIS

DIRECTOR

Davis is a former Nederland Firefighter and EMT. She works as an allied healthcare professional, maintaining both her EMS and RT certifications. Beth is well in touch with the community and perceptions of fire suppression, EMS and fire mitigation. She actively pursues our ability of how best to serve the community, while balancing realistic expectations from her experience on the Department.
